Shreveport Crime Statistics

The Louisiana Statistical Analysis Center (LSAC) of the Louisiana Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Criminal Justice releases yearly crime reports of cities and parishes in the state. In 2018, there were 11,472 total crimes reported in Shreveport, including 1,588 violent crimes and 9,884 property crimes. The violent crimes reported include 49 murders, 123 rapes, 335 robberies, and 1,081 aggravated assaults. The property crimes reported include 1,832 burglaries, 7,241 larcenies, and 811 motor vehicle thefts.

The 2018 crime statistics of Shreveport show a slight increase in crimes in the city. Between 2014 and 2018, there was an increase in five out of the seven major crimes. Murder, rape, aggravated assaults, larceny, and motor vehicle theft rates declined by 145%, 2%, 20%, 9%, and 64% respectively. On the other hand, robbery and burglary rates declined by 16% and 12%.
